Tsavolite

tsavolite

Lush green tsavorite is a bright, vivid variety of grossular garnet. Tsavolite is rare in large finished pieces.  Its lovely green color is attributed to chromium and vanadium, trace elements in its composition.

Lore

Tsavorite was first discovered about 3 decades ago in Tanzania, East Africa; then a few years later it was found again in neighboring Kenya. Named for the Tsavo River and the Tsavo National Park near its deposits in Africa, tsavorite was brought into the American limelight in the mid-1970s by Tiffany & Company, who renamed it "tsavolite" for their promotional purposes.

Tsavorite can be used to assist one in psychic communications and in pursuits relative to telepathic connections.  The crystalline formation and the faceted configuration is extremely powerful for this and all other applications." 1
